Nevada is home to a number of homeland security professionals. 2012 salary data on a number of these occupations is available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Key salary data are presented below with the average salary of those who earn in the top tenth percentile in Nevada preceding the median annual salary.
Information security analysts in Las Vegas who were in the top tenth percentile earned more than the average value for Nevada’s average in that category. They earned $130,560.
In contrast, transportation security screeners in Las Vegas and Reno earned about the same as the state’s average. Their median incomes were $34,540 and $34,120, respectively.
In the case of the protective service worker supervisors, professionals outside of the cities earned more. Their median wage was $49,780 with top earners averaging $86,990 a year.
